AP disconnect resulting in a dive crash

After I came back from a shower, I saw a dark screen saying crash. I find it a mystery how this could have possibly happened. I received two overspeed violations and nose dived into a mountain.

These are the things I know it could have NOT been:
-Accidentally disconnecting AP instead of enabling VNAV
-Somebody disconnecting my AP

I do think it may have been:
-My iPad screen malfunctioning and “ghost” touching the areas near the autopilot, and disconnecting it.

A little information about the frequent malfunctioning. After my iPad was repaired in October 24’ I started frequently having screen malfunctions playing Infinite Flight. These happen at any given moment and can also happen in flight, I have learned. It shuts down a touchscreen part of my screen in critical situations.

I can physically see it malfunctioning, because I enabled “show touches”.

Here is the replay, have a look.

I would really like to have these violations removed as I am not responsible for these.

Hi, level 1 violations are typically just left untouched as they are not that severe. The appeals team usually does only lvl 2 and 3. With that being said I have made mistakes where I disconnect the AP by accident and what has happened to you happened to me. The lvl 1 vios are not that serious, technically ur hardware issues is an issue you must fix, to avoid having possible issues/vios from happening again, as you are aware of the issue.

I hope this doesnt happen again for u, good luck!

Hey brother, I also have ghost touches in the very device I fly on.
To make sure there is no such problem, what I do is i click on the globe icon, and then select show fpl only.
Because the ghost touches occur in the keyboard area of my phone, when I select the show fpl only, nothing happens.
Also try to stay around when descending or when about to descend, and the other times, maybe use ap+

Hiya!
After reviewing your replay, I’d at least try and contact @appeals because you could get lucky :eyes:

You’re responsible for your device. Infinite Flight doesn’t have any responsibility in that and this wouldn’t be an app glitch.

On a side note, why are we still tuned into YYZ Unicom over California nor responding to the on guard from Oakland Center?

It’s a bit of a little autistic thing
That I want to stay tuned in to the departure frequency until TOD

I guess that’s sorta ok if you didn’t depart with active ATC. When given a frequency change approved by ATC, please do tune out of the frequency as it can cause issues for us and we have no way to fix it on our end.

Yep I can totally imagine the problems that would give atc. But don’t worry, I only do it at with CTAF’s :joy:
