Anybody have tips?

I myself am a pretty good photographer but was wondering if anyone had tips for shooting sports mode while planespotting using a Canon T7 Rebel EOS DSLR with a Canon 75-300mm

After mounting on a tripod, manually set the focus, lock the focus just before the airplane passes, and then switch the camera angle to follow the airplane.
