A short haul route I recommend is From London (EGLL) to Paris (LFPG), the flight time is usually 40 minutes

i don’t personally know of any routes short haul in Africa, but i find short haul dublin to heathrow is a good route. or mancester to Heathrow.

New England has nice scenery if you are looking for that in America. I may be biased, as my home airport is PVD, but here are some:
KPHL-KPVD (US Airways E175)
KJFK-KACK (Maybe a jetBlue E190?)
KJFK-TXKF (Delta A319), seasonal
KPVD-KBDL (UPS 752)
KDCA-KPVD (Southwest 737)
KTPA-KBOS (Spirit A321)
The final one is something I love doing, but isn’t commercial.
Hop in a TBM and fly around some of the islands New England has to offer!
KPVD-KBID-KMVY-KACK-KBOS-KPVC-KBDL-KPVD (Any TBM)…maybe takes 3 hours or so and is a ton of fun with consecutive take offs and landings!

Do Hawaii flights! Using the Southwest 737-800 you can fly from HNL-ITO, ITO-HNL, HNL-OGG, OGG-HNL, HNL-LIH, LIH-HNL, HNL-KOA, and KOA-HNL. All flights range from 22-41 minutes.

I highly recommend flying around the middle east, a great flight is Jeddah to TLV, it would never happen in real life so its pretty unique, a crj would compliment the route nicely.

YMML-YSSY. Last time I checked it was the 2nd most flown route in the world. From Melbourne to Sydney (Australia), the 45 minute flight is very snazzy. The suggested plane would be the B738 QANTAS or Virgin Australia.
