Was just wondering if anybody knew of some nice GA airports in Iceland? The more exotic the better!
I personally enjoy Borgarfjordur Eystri Airport (BGJ), on the Northeastern coast.
Well if you’re looking for mountains and stuff like that, there’s literally nothing :D
If you’re not, ignore this comment
I’m actually looking to do Scotland to Greenland in a 172 😂 Just need an airport in Iceland to stop in for fuel

Good luck with ur flight
Akureyri (ICAO: BIAR) Is a really nice one. It is also home to the largest Icelandic Aviation museum!
Akureyri is great! It is situated on a beautiful fjord! Perfect views!
If you’re going to stopover in Iceland, I highly suggest using BGBW. If only it had 3d scenery then it would be awesome. Also if you’re travelling off to America, a known stopover point is Rouyn Noranda in Canada. It’s a tiny airport, that I edited for transatlantic ferry flight purposes.
I like Reykjavik airport. Not Keflavik but Reykjavik. BIRK
It’s not really exotic, just a nice airport in my opinion :)
Search on ifatc.org. It’s got a cool advanced airport search feature.
