Any app developers out there? Have a request:

Hey folks. Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how to integrate a spreadsheet, of which I will provide a link to below, that provides loading data for any given aircraft, into an application format, or Google Form of some sort. It would function by querying the user to select a particular airframe from a dropdown menu, and the outputted data would include passenger count, bag count, cabin weight, cargo weight, total zero fuel weight (basic operating weight of selected aircraft plus pax/cargo weights), minimum loading times for each, and finally, the soonest off block time conceivable for the given loading times (current time of query + duration to load each). Additionally, a “Turn Flight?” checkbox would be available to select to provide new loads for the flight, as well as the time required to “turn” the flight back out of the gate at the destination. As an option, the user could input a desired gate arrival time at their own discretion, to get the soonest off block time for the inputted gate arrival time + turnaround time.

Another request… in light of now living paycheck to paycheck, but still desiring an app that does most of what foreflight and similar apps do, how would one go about finding a map service to stream that integrates weather radar, satellite, real-time flight data updates (altitude, heading, GPS location), Airport info, METAR/TAF, gate maps (the ones provided in virtual hub are next to impossible to read and the maps provided in LiveFlight update every several seconds), etc. Basically looking for a free but legit and thorough EFB app for IF that uses the IF Connect API .

Might be asking for too much here, but would anyone be willing to provide insight on at least how one might go about creating such a thing? Many thanks!!!

You do know you can connect foreflight to IF, correct.

Yes, but for a fortune. Read my edit, accidentally posted while I was typing, lol.

Fair enough, I have done that before.

Any comments? Sorry, anxious to hear what is possible!

Have you looked into the documentation for Sheets or Forms yet? It’s a decent starting point to get what the limits are of the system you want to use.

Also look into SimBrief it’s free. It provides some of both the things you want. It’s a flight planner that gives you a 40-100 page PDF that will give you certain wind information for your journey and it does fuel/weight calculations for you. The 747’s seem to burn a bit faster than what SimBrief quotes so I always give it a tiny bit extra if it’s a 747

May have found just the thing I wanted… OpenasApp is an amazing tool! I think I’m gonna have lots more fun with this in a few hours… I’ve stayed up way too late with it… supposed to be working on the ramp in 3.5 hours! 😬
