TURKEY TO ENGLAND
Hello community members and welcome aboard Jet2 flight LS1702 on this Boeing 757-200 bound for Manchester.
Our flight plan will see us departing Antalya on the southern Turkish coast and flying north over the width of Turkey over Istanbul and the sea of Marmara, Serbia, Austria, cruising over Germany and Netherlands before finding the North Sea and finally our destination.
We’re taking G-LSAB out for a spin today - a 34 year old 757 which took its first flight in 1988 with Air Holland. Throughout the almost 3 decades it’s changed hands several times with Odyssey, Sterling Airways, Britannia, El Al Israel, Martinair, Air Anatolia, Fly Air and finally Jet2.
Despite its age, the wonderful sound of those 2 Rolls Royce RB211-535 E4 power plants never gets old and it’s still a workhorse even today - still completing 2-3 flights per day for the British low cost airline.
