I recently uodate my Galaxy S24 Ultra to One UI 7.0 which is the Samsung skin for Android 15. Before then on One UI 6.0 (Android 14), IF was running very smoothly with no issues. And since my country is known for its terrible WiFi, I primarily fly with mobile data enable.
Now after the update I was unable to load for the first time. Second time it loads but doesnt show the diagram of the loaded airport. When i select a new aircraft that I havent donwloaded before it takes forever to download the aicraft and load me in.
I doubt its a problem on my end because, i called my Cell Service company and they have reported that they havent had any complaints in my area.
I’m now wondering if other S24 Ultra or One UI 7.0 users are facing the same or similar issues. If you all have any tips and tricks on how to mitigate this problem I would highly appreciate it.
Yeah, Android 15 and IF don’t like to hold hands together. Here’s a topic with a solution from Schyllberg, try that. Hopefully 25.1 will bring a definitive solution to this.
Firstly, I really appreciate your feedback and your assistance sir/ma’am. I looked through threads on reddit as well and finally came to the conclusion that it has something to do with the fact that Samsung decided to fully transition from OpenGL to full on Vulkan which they say is more efficient and powerful. With this in mind, i went thru the developer options to enable ANGLE according to the fix, but the option was grayed out meaning it’s no longer supported for my version of android. I guess the sudden transition for Samsung hardware as of now hasnt really optimised all the apps yet, including Infinite Flight. I think thats why whenever i try to download new aircraft, the sim just does not respond. I will let everyone on this thread know if Samsung releases a update which fixes the utilisation of Vulkan or if, as you said yourself, IF’s 25.1 update helps with this.
We just attempted this on an S23 and was not able to reproduce this.
Based on your description of the issue - this does very much indicate some sort of connectivity issue. Because the issues you’re having are originating from our Content Delivery Network that handles just that, in-app content (Aircraft, scenery etc).
May I ask how long you’ve been experiencing this?
Hello, schyllberg! Firstly, thank you for your reply!
To answer your question sir, I have been experiencing this issue since the 26th of April. I didnt really post on the 26th thinking my cell service was down as it was a common occurence in my area but nothing that impacted my infinite flight flying when the cell service was active when I had Android 14. I would turn on airplane mode and wait a minute and turn it off again to switch towers and I was back to flying. But, not in this case after my Android 15 update.
But the issue remained then on. I uninstalled IF and reinstalled, cleared cache and tweaked with my graphics settings in Developer Options at least the ones I could change.
So I think your mentioned option may be the culprit here with the Content Delivery Network.
If you have any tips on how I can mitigate this it would be greatly appreciated.
