I blinked and it’s December again? That means it’s time for another installation of end-of-year spotting summaries! I am now in my eighth year of plane spotting, no signs of slowing down anytime soon! 2025 was certainly a mixed year of spotting. With just 18 spotting sessions, 13 locations, and 10 new locations, I did barely half as much spotting this year compared to the previous two. Regardless, I had a great time. Here are 10 of my best spotting moments from 2025.

I made my 2024 summary before this photo so I threw it in here.
While not as goated of a year as 2023 or 2024, 2025 certainly brought some nice variety. I have now spotted at 61 different locations in 14 different countries. While things aren’t finalized, 2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic year when it comes to my spotting. See you around!
As it currently stands I will not be allowed to host one this year, as they’re cracking down on user-hosted spotting competitions for reasons I’m sure you know at this point. I have been informed this could change in the future but it’s all speculation right now.
Ah yes, I thought the screenshot competitons got suspended, not the real aviation ones. Super unfortunate to hear the news but I hope real world comps will be permitted in the near future.
Originally yes, then I guess they doubled back on the decision. Tis how it goes sometimes. Honestly given what went down this year I can’t really blame them, but I do hope they revert at some point obviously.
Eh. I’m not going to sit here and say your comp went over well, but realistically I’m sure they were 98% of the way to making their decision anyways when you posted. There were many, many comps earlier in the year that went much worse. Don’t sweat it. I definitely do not blame you.

I’m glad I was able to do good for mine during the summer. Mine may have been quick but I do believe it had better performance than some of the others. Hopefully I can do it again in the future
