[ANA B788] Kagoshima Domestic Ops

Hiya! It’s me again (it’s been quite a while). Today we’ll be flying the newly released ANA livery on the 787-8. Some highlights include: a limited edition of a safety video, a fairly busy departure out of Haneda, a beautiful sunrise near Shikoku, and a famous approach back into Haneda.
いきましょう!

Airline/Aircraft Type: All Nippon Airways (ANA) / 787-8
Callsign(s): ANA619,626
Origin/Return: Tōkyō-Haneda Int’l HND
Destination/Turnaround: Kagoshima KOJ
Route: RJTT⇒RJFK⇒RJTT
Server: Expert (finally)
REMARKS: Legs not flown to real time schedule

Our journey starts at Gate 702 at Terminal 2. Since most of the bay gates are full, we’ll be using the remote stands.

After boarding is complete, we push back on schedule. Using the new auto-pushback feature is quite good, but I think everyone can agree it still needs a bit of work.

During the pushback, the usual ANA safety video plays, except this isn’t usual. Actually it’s the Pokémon version of the safety video usually played on ANA’s EEVEE & Pokémon Jets. However during the month of December, this video will play on almost all ANA aircraft, as it is on this flight! You can check out the Safety Video here.

Landing the 787 is always a breeze. -210fpm on this one.

After spending almost the entire day in Kagoshima, it’s time to return to Haneda!

In the most luckiest of circumstances, the winds have switched, meaning a landing from the north and east (This doesn’t happen often incase you don’t know).

It also means we get to do the turning LDA approach to 22. This approach involves approaching the runway slightly offset to the left, before making a turn about 3mi out to line up. It’s comparable to DCA’s River Visual (but in reverse).

No worries! I know Japanese is difficult to acquire since it has many symbols or kanjis so I do understand that.
