As some of you may remember about a month ago I posted a topic discussing my opinions on the community and if the rules were too strict on topics and other things. A month has gone by and I have had time to think about it and I realized that it is not the rules that bug me, rather it is the actual people who constantly feel the need to correct people and police everything to the point where it is no longer enjoyable or fun to post due to fear of doing even the smallest thing incorrectly or god forbid you to make a mistake. I just feel that some people take this platform too seriously. These are just my thoughts though and Iām interested to see if anybody feels the same way that I do.
Very true, I feel the exact same way. A lot of people just want to post something, if it is the slightest bit offensive someone will flag it, I mean we canāt please everyone.
You have to keep in mind that this is a mature, professional flight simulator forum, not a Reddit forum. This is a mature place to discuss, ask questions, and learn. Not to joke around and be immature.
With that being said, if you ever have an issue with a fellow user on this community, please do not hesitate to contact moderators. They will hear you out and take action if necessary.
I get that, I once felt the exact way you did. But, I learned over time that this is a mature environment, and I had to adjust accordingly (still in the process of doing that, by the way).
But, this doesnāt mean having friends steal your phone and post lyrics to a random song, if you know what I mean. Itās all a learning experience, and itās a long process. You donāt learn these things overnight, it comes with experience, time, and patience.
Something I donāt agree with though are mini mods who feel like they can boss everyone around, I am not talking about anyone in particular just saying, theyāre are a lot of them and people that get offended at everything again not talking about anyone specific.
I only have one problem with this. This community is policed way too much. One tiny error in a post and there are like 5 replies digging into the creator of the post. Itās just sad. Iāve never seen you do that, but it happens a lot. This community is not welcoming to new users. Weāre not very good at it.
Well, I want everyone to know this, but Iām currently drafting a āhandbookā that will outline how to react, understand, and respond to these types of situations, and more. I understand everyoneās stance and am working to eradicate the issue as much as possible.
Yes, I do, Btw @Thunderbolt I have never seen you mini mod I have seen you do necessary editing (which is a good thing) but never have I seen you mini mod.
As mentioned in the post linked above, the moderators/staff are refreshing the IFC and this includes the TL3 or regular members. They are being hand picked by the moderators and staff, and are chosen based on the maturity, respect they show and contributions to the forum.
Much better than an automated system in my opinion.
They make us all angry dude, but itās something that comes with any and every kind of community. Itās just something you have to learn to deal with. If they hand out incorrect information, which they have, the real moderators will either correct them or tell them to stop, which also does happen š
In the meantime, the best thing to do is sit and wait to see what happens. The regulars are already being evaluated, the system has been changed which hopefully will stop spam posting and such (having TL3 as an attainable stat goal just makes people push harder to have a special name and status), and more stuff will be changed and updated in the near near future
