TL;DR: I like long hauls.
Ah, the long haul flight. A favourite of many pilots. And can you blame them? The feeling of setting up everything at the departure airport, having a great flight plan, knowing you’ll be up there for a considerable amount of hours. You taxi to the runway, get your takeoff clearance from tower and up you go. All the way to cruising altitude! During the climb, you enjoy everything getting smaller and smaller until you’re at FL350.
During your flight, you soak up the stunning landscape that IF offers. Maybe you’re halfway over the Atlantic Ocean, just off the coast of Greenland. Or maybe, you’re somewhere over the Alps or Himalayas, admiring the beauty of these giants that are millions of years old. Wherever you might be going, there’s always something exciting about a long haul. But before you know it, snap, attention! Time for our descent. You set everything up and steadily make your way down. Be careful now! Don’t ruin the landing! Of course you didn’t, because you’re a great pilot. You touched down safely and begin to taxi to your gate. You arrive, turn off your engines and connect the jet bridge. The final actions of your long haul. Hours and hours of flying have lead to this moment. And YOU did that! Great job, captain. Time for another one soon.
I tried to write down how much I love long hauls in words here. I’m not the best writer, I know. Oh well. It’s early anyways and it was a long night. What I want to say here: go do some long hauls if you can, soak in the whole experience and immerse yourself into the world of Infinite Flight. Nothing can stop you.
See you in the skies
