I’m completely new to the Infinite Flight Community, Infinite Flight itself and the Discord server, and just recently started!
Since I am just starting out, I wanted to introduce myself to the community and ask for a little bit of guidance. I think it is the best thing to do as a newbie around here. I am currently practicing basic flying mechanics and trying to set my muscle memory a bit, but I feel I need some advice : )
A few quick questions:
What are the best tutorials or video guides for a beginner looking to master takeoffs, landings, and navigation? I try my best to replicate realistic procedures and all other things.
Are there any specific aircraft that are highly recommended or more forgiving for beginners to practice on?
What is the single best piece of advice you wish you knew when you first started playing Infinite Flight?

I recommend just doing a short haul flight and practice practice practice until you get the hang of the control.
When I first started I did 20+ short haul flights from WBSB to WBKK (real scheduled flight on an A320). And now I got the hang of the flight controls, rudder controls, even smooth braking during taxi.
As much as you look for video tutorials, you still need to keep practicing. Video tutorials on how to plan your flights, setups, approaches etc should be available on YouTube.

The Infinite Flight team has made some brilliant tutorial videos on YouTube, You can find general Infinite Flight tutorials here or specific aircraft tutorials here. For beginners, I’d recommend you start small with aircrafts such as the A320 flying short haul routes just to get a feeling of the controls and operations. If you would like a practice long hauls further on then I would recommend the A350-900. One thing to keep in mind is that you really have to practice loads and the skills don’t just appear magically. Don’t rush anything and if you have any questions about the game or how to operate things, use the User guide for help. If you are still unsure about things then feel free to ask people here on Infinite Flight Community, there is a great team of staff members that are always happy to help.
Warm greetings, fellow pilot. I’ll take the time to answer questions 2 & 3 for you based on my experience:
The best aircraft for you to start off with would be the X-Cub. It’s a promising maneuverable aircraft, that models the major flight physics properly. It will also get you used to doing smooth landings and a little practice with nose wheel landings, which is a bit more challenging than main wheel landings. You can then go TBM-930 → Dash-8 Q400 → 737 NG family → MD11/DC10 or B777 family if you have to.
Advice I wished I learned when I started is that you need to choose what priorities you want out of Infinite Flight and you must be willing to sacrifice some of them for others.

Tip: Only use the “Check-in” command if you are tuning into an ATC frequency for the very first time on your flight, or if you were flying in uncontrolled airspace. If an active controller handles you and sends you a “Contact [Frequency]” command, do not check in. Instead, simply request your desired radar service (like an approach, flight following, or flight level change) on the new frequency!
It’s always best to learn the classics early on. Fly those, fly anything. While they can be frustrating at times, they’re lovely once you get the hang of them.
The true classics are the A332F, A346, B717, B747 (Family), B767, C17.
Hi there….
Firstly you have three kinds of server,since you are currently in grade 1 you can join casual and training server . I highly recommend you to join the training server since the include IFATC . In your first flight, try to use either B737 or A320 since they are small aircrafts. Try as possible to avoid violations just like exceeding the speed limit (If you want you can read the IF guide as it will help you so much ) you can also watch Infinite Flight YouTube channel .the 3rd server is expert , you can enter it when grade 3. I hope this helped a little bit.
professional pilots do IFR Check-In, then VFR Check-In, then they request a flight following and radar vectors to their destination (7,000nm away), then they request an approach to their destination, then they press every single button on the ATC menu because wow there’s an ATC active let’s put it to use !!!
