Welcome to our first community event!
To celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, our team thought it would be a great idea to create a simple event based on a fly out of our three busiest airports in Ireland. I hope you will all enjoy this one! This will take place on the weekend, since a lot of you people have school during Saint Patrick’s Day.
Emerald Isle is the poetic name for Ireland due to its green countryside, first referred to in print by William Drennan in his poem “When Erin first rose”.

Dublin Airport (Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath) is an international airport serving Dublin, the capital city of Ireland. It is operated by DAA (formerly Dublin Airport Authority). The airport is located 7 km (4.3 mi) north of Dublin, in Collinstown, near Swords, Dublin.
In 2018, over 31.5 million passengers passed through the airport, making it the airport’s busiest year on record. It is the 13th busiest airport in Europe, and is by far the busiest of Ireland’s airports by total passenger traffic; it also has the greatest traffic levels on the island of Ireland, followed by Belfast International Airport.
The airport has an extensive short and medium haul network, served by an array of carriers, as well as a significant long-haul network focused on North America, the Middle East and East Asia. It serves as the headquarters of Ireland’s flag carrier – Aer Lingus, regional airline Stobart Air, Europe’s largest low-cost carrier – Ryanair, and ASL Airlines Ireland, together with another two airlines, CityJet and Norwegian Air International.
United States border preclearance services are available at the airport for U.S.-bound passengers. Shannon Airport is the only other airport in Europe to offer this facility.

In 2018, Shannon Airport handled 1,864,762 passengers, a 6.5% annual increase. (citation needed)
The airport has a history of pioneering in global aviation with the first transatlantic proving flight in 1945, the worlds first duty-free airport opening in 1947 and the world’s first United States border preclearance facility opening in 1986. It was a busy refueling stop for many international carriers in the 1960s, making it a gateway between Europe and the Americas. There are certain rules to follow prior event start up.
-
Every Pilot must follow the Event Rules and act a professional manner at all costs.
-
Please spawn in fifteen to ten minutes before the event starts, so you will have time to organise yourself before the departure.
-
For any Departures you are advised to read use the following waypoints and altitudes in the graphs above in order to maintain to the current standards real pilots use.
-
Every individual Pilot pushes back in their scheduled time marked in their area. If IFATC is present, you must request patiently and wait for clearance. If you will spam the message at least twice you are in risk of getting reported and/or ghosted. 👻
-
If IFATC is not present for the duration of the event, please use Unicom. Please inform the surrounding pilots of your position as much as possible but do not spam the frequency.
-
If you would like to attend the event, open for all community users, please mention the Airport, Gate Selection and the Callsign if you are replying below. This also applies to all VA’s.
-
If you would like to change the destination, please make sure that the route is flown in the real world. Flights to Italy is not allowed because of the travel restrictions in the real world. (COVID-19) We will update the situation in Ireland and let everyone know about further restrictions (if our VA decides to) implement for the Event.
-
If there is demand for the Airbus A350, we will open extra Stands in the North of EIDW.
-
If a pilot spawns into your gate, wait five minutes until it leaves the gate. If the pilot is still in the gate, you will have to use the reserve gates. More information followed up by message.
