American Airlines announced today that they will start flying a special “Flagship” livery in November to commemorate the carrier’s 100th birthday, which is in six months.
“American has thoughtfully chosen a design that evokes our rich history while looking ahead to our next 100 years,” said Ron DeFeo, American’s Chief Communications Officer. “Throughout American’s history, ‘Flagship’ has always been recognized as our premium travel experience. Our renewed focus on the customer experience is making premium travel better than ever across all aspects of our customers’ travel journeys. Painting the original Flagship design on our Flagship aircraft is a powerful way to honor that legacy while embracing the future.”
The livery will be painted on N735AT, a Boeing 777-323(ER) which was delivered to American brand new in January of 2016, making it just a couple months shy of 10 years old. The livery is based on the airline’s 1930s branding, prominently featuring a lightning bolt motif that will run the length of the fuselage.
Classy. I can’t be the only one who wants to see this on other aircraft in their fleet. Also, seeing that we’re getting the Delta 100 livery in Infinite Flight, this should be added too
yeah i think they could have designed it better but its still good but ima have to keep begging my mom to let my fly there on april 15 (their 100th aneversery)
I look forward to seeing this actually on an aircraft and not a render. I am afraid that silver/metallic will not be silver enough, especially after them replacing the Silver Mica with Silver Eagle a few years back.
