Interesting routes to say the least… really didn’t see Christchurch as a destination American would be serving anytime soon. Probably makes sense though as now they have a joint venture with Qantas, so they’ll be competing with Air New Zealand

Yeah same never thought I’d see it so soon. But recently the South Island experienced a 14% increase in American tourist so maybe Americans taking the big risk. 😁

I have hopes for AKL, however I doubt CHC will last more than a season

I thought the same for VHHH when Cathay first started flights but to much surprise they’ve added more flights into NZCH and currently the city rebuild has been bringing in a lot more people into the once dead CBD. On top of that NZCH is growing at more than than the tourism average in New Zealand with more flying into NZCH and driving down to Queenstown but then again Air New Zealand scrapped there KLAX flights in the 90s so who knows. 😆😆

Well Singapore Airlines has Christchurch as a destination. Haven’t seen any negative comeback from it.

Completely different airline, There are so many places that Singapore flies to, but the US3 would never fly to in a million years.

Personally it’s just far too long and thin to be viable. PHL/ORD-leisure Europe works because of the short flight time.
