American Airlines Is Changing Their Livery (Kind Of)

American Airlines Paining Their Logo On The Winglet Of Aircraft

(Source to all images below)

American Airlines, the largest airline in the WORLD by fleet size is making a slight livery change on their aircraft. Starting today, it has been reported that American will now paint the AA logo on the inside and outside of winglets on aircraft that have them.

A Boeing 737-800, registered N306NY is the first one on the stage featuring their “new” winglet.

I have to be honest, I’m not sure what to think of this. I’ve gotten used to the AA livery since it was released in 2013 or 2014, and it definitely strange to see it’ll Ike this. But maybe it’ll grow on me. I guess time will tell 🤷‍♂️.

I just saw this. Honestly it is subtle yet very good looking. I like this “New Livery Change!”

Very interesting. I prefer it not being there, but I guess that it too will start to grow on me! 😅

IMO they should’ve painted the tail design on the winglet

Would’ve looked much better

Wow I like it, I have always hated the plain white. Hopefully one of my AA flights next month will have it on there! Also I think they should’ve put the tail design on their instead that would’ve been sick. It would look kinda like how the Virgin America winglets looked which were awesome.

No no no no no… no

That doesn’t work at all, it looks ugly, almost like a bad flight sim design. It just doesn’t fit there.

It’s not even lined up right. 💀

Yes Yes I was hoping the would add this

They should put the logo on the outside and “AA.com” on the inside.
Also, what will this look like on the CRJ family?

they just need to re-angel the logo a tiiiinny bit, and it’ll be perfect.

Don’t even think of the legacy US 321’s…oh no

No no no no no.

  1. Looks ugly

  2. The amount of money that they will spend repainting all their winglet aircraft with just a tiny decal on the winglet is not worth it - complete waste of time and money.

  3. Looks ugly (wait did I already say that)

Looks like a 5 year old trying to print the logo but he gets the size wrong, aligned it wrong etc

Just… why

We don’t get the 738 at GRR, so I hope this comes to the 175 eventually

Looks so dumb being so small on an otherwise big winglet. Either fill up the entire winglet or don’t put it on at all

Agreed. It looks off centered and a bit small for the winglet size. If it’s filled completely that would look better imo. Excited to see how they apply it to the A320 family and maybe even the American Eagle fleet?

Y’all are over reacting, one tiny change on the winglet should not cause this much drama.

It looks completely fine, is it the best looking plane I’ve ever seen? No but AA never was so it doesn’t matter 🤷‍♂️😂
