American Airlines Flight 965 tribute

Today 28 years ago on December 20th, 1995, the deadliest aviation accident in Colombia 🇨🇴 occurred on the mountains around Buga. American Airlines flight 965, a Boeing 757 from Miami 🏝️😎 to Cali crashed into a mountain after getting lost around the valley due to them deleting their entire flight plan because they misheard the approach controller to CLO as at the time, Cali didn’t have a functioning radar. 159 people were lost with 4 people surviving including a dog. Initially, there were 5 survivors but one died before rescue could come. Nowadays the route is perfectly same to fly, AA’s pilots are better trained, newer and more modern aircraft fly this route ( Boeing 737MAX8 ) and CLO now has a working radar. RIP to those lost on December 20th, 1995 🙏🏻🕊️
