Am I in the wrong?

Hello guys, I’m not sure if I am in the wrong but I believe that I am not.
I was arriving into KEWR just now and got a Level 2 Violation due to insufficient aircraft spacing. Now I realised the Air India A350 will be faster than me (travelling at 230kts) when I was at the time travelling at 220kts) and so I decided to follow in behind. I slowed down to 185kts and just followed in my arrival.
I then realise the United Airlines 737 is coming in too fast ( 210kts) and I expected the controller to make him do a 360 for spacing or maybe an execute a missed approach.
I can upload a video on here to show but I will add pictures so you can see my positioning.
Also at no point was I told to speed up or slow down and so I kept a good visual with the aircraft ahead and behind.
Anyways am I the one at fault or not.

Just to add I am not trying to appeal. I am just asking the community on your opinions.

Hey there!

See below if you wish to appeal the violation:

It’ll be up to the appeals team to decide whether to uphold or remove the violation.

That’s up for Appeals to decide who have the necessary experience dealing with these things. Not the Community itself
