I am in class right now and am bored. Am I allowed to spot at an active airport in IF?

Just get on a Cessna and use the display name as ā€œspottingā€. Head to a GA Gate on the Expert Server and go spot some planes!

I agree with @GlobalFlyer1, you should pay attention in class. Only do this when you are done with all your classwork, when the teacher isnā€™t talking, and the teacher has approved the use of your phone/tablet. Make sure your phone/tablet is muted or you have earbuds to not disturb those that are working. If the rules disallow the use of a phone or tablet in class, donā€™t do this. Iā€™m done with a project that today is an in class work day for, so thatā€™s why iā€™m on IFC.

Itā€™s not good to not listen in class. If the teacher finds out you will probably get in trouble.

So, I once couldnā€™t use IF for two weeks cause I was using IF under my desk. My phone was taken away for two weeks (from the school).
I suggest checking if this is okay with your teacher first

I spot in Expert whenever I get bored and not in the mood to fly nor ATC.

Just to add something: back in my homecountry Indonesia, our cellphone rules were strict as hell. If you got caught looking at your phones the first time, it would be confiscated for a week. The next time would be a month. Third time: 6 months. Fourth (and subsequent offenses): 1 year. And we had someone who got into the third offenseā€¦
