2 from JAX!! I think these are both going to crash and burn from competition from United (IAD) and Southwest (BNA) but we will just have to wait and see.

We’ll see 😁

Super interesting, as Allegiant already serves St. Paul

St. Petersburg to here? That’s seems really odd for a new route choice 🤷‍♂️

PIE is an Allegiant hub, so I’m not too surprised about that 😂

Yep, most people aren’t really aware of how Allegiant operates since they’re not a major airline like United or American per say.
They offer primarily leisure routes and destinations, which is why they have lots of hubs in the southern states (Saint Petersburg, FL, Orlando-Sanford, FL, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Punta Gorda, FL, etc.). These hubs/focus cities and their destinations may seem very random and pointless, though they’re great ways to reach customers seeking some sun from more remote locations that don’t have much other passenger service such as Wichita, Des Moines, Springfield, etc.
As for adding airports like MSP and IAD, they’ll definitely be competing with United and Delta, but I’m confident that their unique destinations that really aren’t served by many other airlines will help them remain profitable.
