One of our favorite local stories was about a 727 taking off from Juneau in the 70s that hit a fish shortly after takeoff. An eagle had dropped it and the plane hit it.

So Alaska isn’t absorbing Hawaiian entirely. They’re just absorbing a lot of their planes and routes… 
Alaska Airlines will be adding new service making it nonstop seasonal in Summer from Seattle to Reykjavik when it starts on May 28, 2026, so, it will be exciting!!

Hey, everyone, they for sure wish and sorry, unfortunately, Hawaiian Airlines won’t order a new Boeing 787-9 and 10 will not be built but almost will be transferred to Alaska Airlines in the future and they will be interested in wide-body for the international flights.
Hawaiian Airlines already has 4 fleets is a Boeing 787-9 and 8 orders left, and 10 never built (5) orders left.
Alaska Airlines will be delivering new-built the Boeing 787-9 (12) order, and 10 (5) order for soon it will take the trip to Asia and Europe and have fun.
Because, I read on the internet news a page on Facebook for the info.

I read on the internet a page from Facebook, the both Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines but they won’t be accepted for the Boeing 787 in Honolulu almost all over to be Alaska yes. Because Hawaiian has an operation already as an Airbus A330-200 the between the ages of 15-20 years old until 2030 but it won’t be an Airbus A330neo order.

Starting October 29th, Hawaiian Airlines will transition its callsign from Hawaiian (HAL) to Alaska (ASA) under an SOC integration with Alaska Airlines.
Delayed HAL flights within 89 minutes will remain with HAL callsign, anything over 90 minutes will fall under ASA callsign.
The final “Hawaiian” flight is HA 866, and the first of this transition will be AS 2604.

There is still that aspect, I believe the delayed flights within 89 minutes stays, so I believe the Island hopper routes stay as Hawaiian.
It is interesting as I thought they would stay separate but operate under the same company
