Alaska Airlines Update Thread | AS News and Updates

It’s probably something to be properly introduced in the 2030s. Several other companies including Airbus are working on the blended wing body aircraft

Wouldn’t those fly much more slowly though? It would be interesting seeing an actual full sized concept.

No idea. If they’re anything like the B2 Bomber, they might be slower but not by much

Looks like Boeing was also messing around with this concept

Very sad. Alaska Airlines only 900 (Non-ER) almost 24 years old over for planning retired that year. You will be missing them!

I think all of their ngs will eventually be replaced with maxes.

Hopefully another airline picks these up and uses them. Or at least preserve one for a museum.

Oh and again. Oh my god.

That article is like 99% adds on 1% story lol. Also it’s nothing new. Engine issues happen quite often for planes since they have to deal with a ton of stuff

That’s actually what the MAXes were made for, other than competing against the NEOs

You know what’s funny is aircraft have their own circle of life. The parts of scrapped aircraft often get reused on new aircraft

It’s for post delivery work making sure it’s ready to fly and have passengers onboard

I heard that Alaska Airlines has two things that are still very much older than 23 years old. The patient is a Boeing 737 both 700 and 900 (Non-ER) planning to be retired that year until December 2025. The replacement is to be Boeing 737 MAX. The reason is that both engines have a problem.

I’m kind of hoping they order the Max 7. It would be a good replacement for the 737-700s and it would help boost the Max 7 program. It would also make Alaska the first airline to operate the entire Max family

Probably. It’s possible.

I don’t think they will because it’s the same operating cost if we flew the 800 or MAX8.

If it’s the same operating cost, I think that’s a good reason to purchase. For example if the MAX and NG counterparts have the same operating cost (-900 is the same as MAX 9, -800 is the same as MAX 8, -700 is the same as MAX 7) it would be cheaper/similar once they retire the NGs as they have 3 less aircraft to maintain and pay for operations

That’s the same thing I thought but the company doesn’t want them for some reason maybe in the future possibly. But for now the MAX9 is our legacy aircraft.

Unfortunately, Alaska Airlines does not plan to order replace new Boeing 737 MAX 7 for them.

I have more old and last year’s pictures, I have 2 times again and another different father my brother is the age of 17 years old has first time we were on the plane for Alaska Airlines the old Boeing 737-900 (Non-ER) for the trip again the one inbound then 7 years later and the one outbound of Seattle last month. I saw there at the front pilot’s old cockpit and had nothing new.
