Alaska Airlines is natorious for operating short hops between all sorts of cities, states and countries; most famously is the Alaskan Milk Run which connects all the smaller towns of the peninsula with Seattle and Anchorage. The very shortest route across the network is Petersburg - Wrangell which is a mear 11 minutes takeoff to touchdown.
But, we aren’t flying one of these hops in the 49th state; we are down in Washington flying Seattle - Wenache which has seen service on the Q400, E175 (our aircraft today), B727 and CRJ7 over the years. This flight of about 20 minutes cruises lower than the summit of Mt. Reiner, and barely tops many of the mountains and hills east of Seattle!
