Airports to avoid for beginners (Expert Server)

I just leveled up to Grade 3 and I’m excited to fly in the Expert server😄 Do any of you have recommendations on which airports to avoid as a beginner? I’d like to avoid violations since I’m still new.

I wouldn’t say there are any airports to avoid, but the busier ones tend to be EGLL, KLAX, KJFK and OMDB. As long as you follow what ATC instructs you do and don’t do anything which breaks the rules, you will be fine. Happy flying!

And of course, be sure to check the user guide if you haven’t already

Thanks! Yeah I loved landing at EGLL since it’s the only airport that’s crowded in Training. But I’m sure it’s even more crowded in Expert :’)

Hello!

Congrats on getting to Expert Server!

I agree with what has been said above by Eggs and Anthony. While there are “harder” airports which, though, are this complicated due to terrain or special procedures (such as Paro), and not ATC-wise, you will be fine in whatever airport of the world as long as you follow the ES rules and the controllers’ instructions. Busier airspace tends to be a bit more stressful and harder due to the fact that you have to always pay close attention to your surroundings and ATC instructions, as well as being prepared for many scenarios (holds, Go Arounds, etc.), so you may avoid these kinds of airports/airspace for now.

One thing you need to pay attention to, and which differs from the Training Server where these are not present, are the NOTAMs/TFRs, so special procedures that must be followed at some airports. You may find the list here.

Make sure to review the available guides (such as the Flying Guide) and/or tutorials you can find on this forum.

As long as you follow every rule and instruction given by ATC, you will be fine in any airspace, from the dead ones (so, the ones with no planes around), to the busier ones. Good luck with your ES journey
