Airport notes

Many of us are discussing the unprofessional nature of ES. Although all airports on earth have almost the same operating mode, there are still exceptions. This function is to add a little note on the airport information page. This function is just a “suggestion”, not a “rule”.

What does it look like? Just like this picture.

In addition, the domestic/international terminal can be mark, and the base airline’s use which terminal can be mark.

How it work?
Any IFATC member can think about the special rules of the airport he is familiar with, and then open a ticket in the IFATC Discord server, and then the ATC manager will review them and decide whether to add them to Notes.

However, IFAET is usually responsible for airport information, but I think ATC will be better in this aspect ,I’m not saying that AET can’t fly, I think it needs to work together… So this may be a good opportunity to strengthen the cooperation between AET and ATC!

Thanks to them for improving this inspiration in the reply.

Wait.. this is PEAK. I can’t believe anyone hasn’t thought of this before. This simple thing would actually be a game changer of a feature. My only strife is that the notes will have to be added with the non-frequent updates, unless it isn’t necessary to add notes.

One note that I’d add immediately is all aircraft taking off from JFK departing from 31L MUST turn left. More education leads to a better expert server overall.

I removed one of my votes just to vote for this!!

Actually it’s better to have the airport editors upload the airport with these notes. Sounds cool!

I love this idea! It could really help elevate the experience all around!

To be honest, this is much more practical than the ATC slot…

Nice idea, would definitely help increase realism for pilots + ATC. Voted!

To be honest, there are many airport guides on IFC, such as your YSSY and my ZUUU, but I believe only a few people will read them.

I’m not a Beta Tester or IFAET. I know almost nothing about the development principle of IF. This is a good addition. I will take the time to put it in the main post!

Thanks!

I didn’t know I wanted this, but this would be wonderful! Voted!

I’m probably missing something given the amount of support this has, but what exactly is the difference between this and NOTAMs?

Great idea! I would also like a way to notate terminal / gate information easily – too many times I’ve seen people park United Airlines, etc. at Heathrow Terminal 5. Or using incorrect gates at the correct terminal etc. Easy ways to increase the information available to pilots like this would be great to see. Will try clear up a vote!

NOTAMs are mostly used to issue some resrtictions or changes in airport/airspace operations, and they are strictly enforced. Notes as I can guess are similar to guide how to use the airport (like Ground School airport-guide but in game)

NOTAMs is a mandatory ES rule of IFATC. If you don’t comply with it, you will get LV3.

Notes can add “suggestion” content. They have essential differences.

It’s totally correct. I completely believe that not everyone will check if there is an airport-guide at IFC before flying. Including IFATC

I didn’t expect this point,I will add it to the main post later. I think there are too many airlines on earth. We just need to point out the airlines which the base here and international/domestic terminals at the airport. Of course, they are “suggestions” rather than “rules”.

This is truly a game changer, especially for someone like me who loves simulating realism. I usually search online for airport details, like which runways are commonly used for departures and arrivals. Having that kind of information directly in the Airport Notes would make a huge difference. It wouldn’t just benefit realism-focused pilots, but also regular players who want to adapt and fly more accurately.

With this, there’s also a strong possibility of more formal procedures and a neater sequence at airports, since pilots would have proper guidance to follow. Imagine if everyone followed the Airport Notes, whether ATC is active or not.

And it’s a lot easier to see this in game, than to open the community and take many steps to find guide here

Voted, definietly need this for almost every airport. It may also include going around procedures, etc. It could be something like a simplified airport charts.

I feel like this is better, because I know me sometimes I forget to check IFC for airport information, I rely on Flight Radar 24 and Simbrief and if it’s in game, it’s easy to check during descent or during setup when your on the ground waiting.
