Hello, Does anyone know if requests for airports to become 3D are open and if so how i do so? 🙂👍.
Airport requests are not open as they’re done by volunteers (but of course you could give one of them a million dollars so they do any airport you wish 😂).
Additionally, you can make the airports by applying here (note: it probably will take a while until you get accepted):

I actually do take requests (I am an editor) but there are no guarantees I can do your request (smaller the higher chance). I would prefer it if you DMed my Discord (same username - or just ask around). I am on the IF discord server. Dms are always open!

Airport requests are a difficult thing. The main reason I see as to why many editors don’t take them is because of motivation. Personally, I am motivated a lot more when I pick the airport myself, especially when I have an attachment to it. Another reason is to not make false promises. Not all airport editors are able to make every airport as we are all at different skill levels. It’s a very individual thing to know as every editor is different, so a request might not be great as it can push the editor too far. Finally, there might be another reason to maybe say no to a request. There is a chance that the airport has already been completed and is just waiting to be released. It is also possible that certain factors make it too much of a challenge to build, such as lack of proper imagery. Anyways, each editor is different, but I think the general idea of requests doesn’t make too much sense in this format.
