I just wanted to know if there are commercial airports irl that can only handle visual approach because there’s no waypoints becaused in IF, some airports like Linzhi doesn’t have any close to it so I figure I would have to visually fly the approach despite it being a commercial airport, so I’m just wondering if there are commercial airports irl that are meant for visual approach only
VNLK and KSFO for the 1s (only in rare windy conditions) are two vis-only airport that I can think of off the top of my head
Because when I arrived at Nyingchi, I have to manually fly the approach so that’s why I’m wondering if there’re airports like that irl
Yeah those 2 are all manual.
Any short field runway is also usually also manual: Saba, St. Barts, and Courchevel.
If by “commercial” you mean Class C or B airfields with regular, scheduled, public service then there are only a handful, at least in the US:
Catalina & Telluride off the top of my head.
Though Hollywood (Bob Hope) Burbank has an ILS/RNAV approach, they almost always use Visual approaches do to noise regulations and terrain.
A few more airfields that share this quirk:
KSAN, KDCA (river visual), John Wayne (Santa Ana)
Most are due to strange airspace restrictions, terrain, or noise abatement.
I mean any airfield with public service
