It’s like that saying about roads and Rome, the Italian one, not the one that’s also in Georgia. Fly long enough and sooner or later you’ll have to go through Atlanta.
I mean I would understand if Delta opened that route because ATL is its home but seeing Etihad and other Middle Eastern carriers is a bit odd because most of them don’t offer connectivity to Delta and most of ATL’s traffic is connections to other flights. And plus all the big Midde Eastern airlines fly to JFK anyways and that’s a big connection airport.
Could be a good new route to put their A350’s on.
Agreed 100%!
They could also use the B77L 🤔
They’ll be retiring them once their A350’s come I assume. Along with their B77W’s (the memories I’ve had on them on the 3 hour midnight hops to India 😔). We could soon see all of their USA routes which the B777 operated on the A350. It’ll be some time before it happens.
So 77W are getting replaced by 350?
Not now I don’t think but in the future my guess would be yes. They’ve had the B77W for a while now.
But they retire them for being too old on age or just because it’s the 77W?
I’ve never seen airlines doing that
YESSSSSSSS we get WestJet now that’s actually crazy
Most probably age. Everyone likes the B77W including airlines.
I think the 777X is more likely to be the long-term successor of the 77W for Emirates.
A350 was purchased, primarily, for slightly smaller markets, e.g. Bologna, Edinburgh, Bahrain etc.
May as well use them on some ULH flights to the US as well to make the most of them.
Yep especially to LA or other underserved routes
