Phil is a relatively untapped long haul market. Personally I think it would be a great airport for the xlrs.
Yeah but I still believe personally it’s more to not overcrowd JFK even more
Finally a new A220 route out of my lovely home airport
Untrue. AA has a ton of JFK slots and they aren’t using all of them. In the past 10-15 years, AA has downsized JFK pretty drastically in terms of international routes. Guarantee we’ll see several new international routes from JFK when they get their A321XLRs where they can put them on long and thin routes to smaller cities.
Discover Airlines is reportedly launching service between Frankfurt and Nashville with A330s.
ANA announced to expand its network between Japan and Europe in July. Milan, Stockholm and Istanbul in a roll starting from December.

Nice to see another Europe Destination for BNA!
Finally, been waiting for this like forever. This was one of the routes the airport had been really focused on starting.
I’m surprised that Lufthansa hadn’t taken up that route from its base in Frankfurt as chances are people would be connecting through Frankfurt as it is a big hub. Connections would be made easier if it’s with the same airline.
It seems like a route they may be interested in. It feels fitting for Condor too.
Discover is owned by the Lufthansa Group, which effectively makes it Lufthansa’s low-cost subsidiary, similar to how Scoot is for Singapore Airlines, Zipair is for JAL, and Jetstar is for Qantas.
Kinda makes sense when you realize a lot of travel to Nashville is leisure-oriented, or at least from Frankfurt, it seems. There’s at least enough business demand from London to justify British Airways sending a 787-9.
Scandinavian Airlines is bringing back a well-requested route.
Starting May 21st 2025, you can go direct from Scandinavia to Seattle!

Delta will begin flights between Minneapolis and Rome in May 2025! It will be 1x daily on the A339. This comes as SAS’s COO says the airline is “committed” to serving the Minneapolis - Copenhagen market, and Turkish Airlines has expressed “considerable interest” in serving Minneapolis - Istanbul.
I’m intrigued, why Minneapolis - Istanbul? I understand SAS’s move because of the big Scandinavian population there.
WestJet began seasonal nonstop service between Nashville (BNA) and Winnipeg (YEG) on Monday, operated with a 737-800
WS1420 leaves Winnipeg at 10:34 A.M. Mountain Daylight Time and arrives in Nashville at 3:04 P.M. Central Daylight Time with a scheduled flight time of 3 hours 43 minutes
WS1421 leaves Nashville at 3:55 P.M. Central Daylight Time and arrives in Winnipeg at 7:18 P.M. Mountain Daylight Time with a scheduled flight time of 4 hours 23 minutes
Pretty exciting news for those of us who like flying to and from Music City on Infinite Flight!
Istanbul is a huge stopover airport for flights in Asia, the Middle East, and even Africa. We also have a fairly decent Turkish population here (mostly in Saint Paul) so that’s probably a factor. Same reasons they chose Denver too.
China Southern will now return to my city Adelaide!!
The flight will be operated by 787-8s now, instead of the A330-300/200s they used to operate to Adelaide. CZ663 will depart Guangzhou at 10:15pm local time and arrive at Adelaide at 9:55am local time. CZ664 will depart Adelaide at 11:30am local time and will arrive back to base at 6:05pm local time.
Well, there was more than one route added…
All 7 new route additions:
Atlanta to Brussels 3x weekly on a 763
Atlanta to Naples 4x weekly on a 332
Boston to Barcelona 3x weekly on a 763
Boston to Milan 4x weekly on a 763
Detroit to Dublin 4x weekly on a 332
Minneapolis to Rome 4x weekly on a 333
New York to Catania daily on 763
Corrections on MSP service as can be seen on the list: 4x weekly, not daily, and its on a A330-300, not a A330-900
Found this quite interesting Harbour Air Seaplanes the largest seaplane operator in North America based in Vancouver, Canada. will now be offering direct YVR to YYJ on wheeled Aircraft!
Cathay Pacific have just announced that from the 24th of April they will run a 4x weekly service between Hong Kong and Dallas Fort Worth on their A350-1000. This makes it their 6th routing to the US and 8th to North America post COVID.
