Sun Country is adding Milwaukee - Punta Cana for this winter.
In other MSP relevant news, JetBlue is pulling service from Minneapolis. They only operate a once daily service to Boston. My guess is they got out served by Delta and Sun Country - they operate 10 daily flights combined to Boston during the summer. JetBlue just can’t compete.
Cathay Pacific has just announced on their Instagram the return of their seasonal Hong Kong to Cairns routing from the 17th of December 2024 to the 29th of March 2025. This route will operate 3 times a week.
Breeze announced a bunch of new routes this morning. New destinations include Newark (EWR), South Bend (SBN), Wilmington, NC (ILM), Erie, PA (ERI), and Daytona Beach (DAB). A lot of the routes from ILM and BDL that were announced match the recently announced ones from Avelo, so looks like we have a bit of retaliation going on. Always cool to see new routes, though!
Ever wanted to go to the Swiss Alps from Washington State?
Well now you can! Starting next year, specifically June 2nd of 2025. Edelweiss will begin service from Zurich to Seattle 2 times a week on their A340-300.
Delta has now announced new seasonal service between New York JFK and Palm Springs. The new service will be operated on their A220s and starts this December!
Notable highlight is AA returning to Edinburgh since 2019 with flights from Philadelphia and launching Chicago O’Hare to Madrid service for the first time
As someone who lives within the Miami metro, AA will also be introducing Miami to Rome service long overdue tbh
They will also upgrade their existing seasonal Paris CDG flight to year round. Hopefully Montevideo will be upgraded soon as it’s one of their cooler routes in my opinion.
PHL makes sense for how AA is setting up their transatlantic network. Their JFK flights are mostly point to point flights but they can funnel people from PHL to most of the US pretty easily.
