He’s asking you why Manchester is never in any announcement
Oh right
. Honestly I have no clue. I never knew there was such a low demand for transatlantic flights from Manchester. Covid really killed things off there. Ever since then United, Delta and American never returned.
And it baffles me that UA has services to many random places such as Mongolia (never knew there was a demand there) and Funchal but hasn’t restarted its MAN flights. It would be nice to see their B757s and B767s back. A direct route to Chicago or California doesn’t seem like a bad idea, especially as it provides an alternative to connecting at airports such as Heathrow.
United likes to experiment with new routes and if they do well, they stick, if they don’t, they pull the plug after like one season
American Airlines is replacing their Landline Bus between Chicago and South Bend with a CRJ!
Im quite sad to see this one go but an airline has to do what an airline need to.
It was definitely a unique route.
They can barley get a 737 Max 8 lol
More than just one. 16 new gates, with delta operating 11 gives international airlines 5 new gates. But will the Airside F gates still be used?
Exactly especially on hot days I’ve seen them struggle even out of Lanzarote where the runway isn’t much longer
So the main issue is customs. Having two different airsides with customs is not only difficult but it costs more. There are different options though. The likely option is that international routes will remain at Airside F instead of going to airside D. The other option is ALL international flights will be put into Airside D and a new customs area will be designated. This would be more difficult though. Another option could be that shorter international flights will go to Airside D and a smaller customs area will be designated. As you know all international flights must taxi to a gate at Airside F at the current moment because that is where the only customs area is. We really don’t know at the moment but as development progresses we will definitely learn more.
True. And why would they build a whole new customs segment at Airside D if their going to continue with Airside F?
But 5 gates reserved for international airlines wouldnt make sense imo, as thats how many are used at Airside F.
Maybe Delta will share some gates. ![]()
edit: Delta gets 6 gates nvm
Scrap some of what I just said. “We’ve been working on this master plan since 2012; We’re creating a 16-gate international terminal that will replace our Airside F,” said Dan Seeley, Tampa International Airport’s director of construction. They may still keep some of international at Airside F but this is what I found.
Dont know where I heard delta gets 11 gates, but its actually 6.
Makes much more sense. Not only does that open up 10 gates for international routes, but Delta gets to expand domestically.
And, they get a Delta Sky Club. (most important part)
United is supposed to take over the rest of Airside E, and put a polaris lounge in.
Well, we will just have to wait and see.
That means more A321neo’s lol
Edit: And hopefully a Dublin or Paris route
Thats all Tampanians want lol. Either Rome or Paris.
Air France would be nice to see though.
The realistic options for TPA after the expansion would be FCO, CDG or DUB. It would probably be on smaller jets obviously like the A330-200. I can almost guarantee no more transatlantic flights being added until post expansion.
Copa Airlines will add Porlamar, Venezuela as their next destination. First flight will take off on 26 November. This is their 6th destination in Venezuela; they operate flights to Caracas, Maracaibo, Valencia, Barquisimeto and Barcelona.
This was a proposal I made in 2024:
Volaris has some new routes:
- Guadalajara-> Atlanta
- Guadalajara → Washington, D.C. (IAD)
- Puebla → Chicago (ORD)
@813WhiskeyNovember summon for Chicago!
Nice! I love Volaris.
New United routes:
- San Francisco → Cincinnati
- San Francisco-> West Palm Beach
Delta’s new route:
- Seattle → Tokyo/Narita (Haneda already served)
