Airline Route Announcement Tracking Thread

I mean that’s true, I only consider flights to be transoceanic if they FULLY or MOSTLY cross a major ocean AND arriving into a new continent

Because if it was just flying above oceans, than US west coast to Hawaii flights would be transpacific (which they aren’t)

Delta is reducing frequencies on a number of flights this upcoming Winter season:

  • Atlanta - Barcelona (-1 weekly frequency)
  • Atlanta - Rome (-1 weekly frequency)
  • Atlanta - Frankfurt (-1 weekly frequency)
  • Atlanta - Lagos (-1 weekly frequency)
  • Atlanta - Madrid (-1 weekly frequency)
  • Atlanta - Paris (-4 weekly frequencies)
  • Boston - Dublin (-1 weekly frequency)
  • New York (JFK) - Milan (-3 weekly frequencies)
  • New York (JFK) - Venice (-1 weekly frequency)
  • Detroit - Frankfurt (-1 weekly frequency)

Nothing is close to firmed up yet, but Aegean is reportedly considering adding routes to India when they get their A321LRs.

I feel like Aegean was not in the place to purchase A321LRs, considering their home country is practically in the crossroads between the Middle East and Europe, which they can reach a ton of places without the A321LR. Since they cannot directly cross the pond, or reach into the Far East, there’s a very limited amount of places Aegean can maximise the range of their A321LRs. I doubt there will be demand for any flights into Eastern Africa, but we’ll have to see how they fare with launching routes into India. Central Asia can also be considered, but it would have it be seasonal only if demand is a priority. Apologies for yapping

Omg Yesss so freaking excited for Newcastle to receive International Flights again they did previously have a Virgin Australia service to Auckland back in 2018/2019. I have several friends planning on going to Bali this year and next year so this will be so much easier than having to drive down to Sydney!

Omg nooo not Stewart that was going to be my first flight on the A320Neo. I’m still upset that they left Hamilton and now they’re leaving Stewart :sob:

They are also cutting Lisbon - Terceira - Oakland (which used to be operated on the Boeing 767 wet-leased from EuroAtlantic); being replaced by TAP’s A330-900 to SFO instead with otherwise the same routing.

787 delivery delays are indeed a serious issue hindering operations worldwide - in addition to the fact that new 787s that are actually being delivered have been experiencing significant maintenance challenges less than a week after entry into service (e.g. N846AN) which certainly doesn’t make things a lot easier for AA.

That’s actually quite common with seasonal flights.

I would assume Delta has a slight edge at JFK and AA doesn’t see the need to go after them.

Ethiopian will fly to Minneapolis and Porto beginning later this month and early July, respectively.
