This seems to be happen regularly to me now, it used to be once in a while but other players plane sometimes show up as “Unknown”, their icon turn to a Prop on the map even when they are on a Jet.
Then when you get close to them, you only see their “Unknown tag” and the plane doesn’t render.
My airplane count is at the highest, all settings are at the highest and my device handles it well

There’s also another weird stuff lots of background aircrafts shooting into space which can be visible on the map quite far away and evenly spread. When using flight radar to check if they are real but doesn’t exist.
The users using ap+ shooting into space is a known glitch. The unknown aircraft is likely a connection issue
try to clear cache maybe itll work
I have the same issue, glad it’s not just on my end.
And also what @Realistic_Flights said. I have seen multiple (In Background) aircraft at 15 million feet MSL.
Hopefully these issues will be fixed in the next hotfix
Yeah there’s been a few issues with aircraft popping up as unknown which is a issue especially if it’s a type that can’t land at a particular airport on the E sever (enforcing TFRs)
But the main issue I have had so so has many other IFATC personnel is that sometimes we lose all aircraft and lose all contact for a good minute or 2 and then everything comes back to life and then it drops again and so therefore we close. So if your on the expert server and you lose atc contact and they close without announcing its most definitely they had issues with the server dropping out.
Honestly this is true.
I only say, as a drop in connection used to happen very very rarely for me. Now, it’s not every session, but a way more frequent occurrence since the update for sure.
I only worry when I’m around ATC. I don’t really want to have to end a flight for this reason 
Mine was sort of the same issue but my camera view from the bottom was in space while my plane was taxiing.
