Aircraft Covered In Ash After Volcano Erupts In Manila

Following the Taal Volcano eruption which spewed a plume of ash over half a mile high, Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport shut down as flights were cancelled or diverted.

Interestingly, aircraft were covered in volcanic ash and had to be washed off in this video.

Some flights have resumed, but many are still cancelled.

Good luck to the airlines and people in the Philippines.

The power of nature showing us how small we as men are.

Ashes to ashes…

Beautiful, but yet Scary

Did you take that?

Yup, Mother Nature can be harsh to aviation. Just ask the crews of BA9 and KLM867. As much as the delays and cancellations were inconvenient, safety must come first.

…dust to dust.
