The E190 is indeed next for rework, but Jason confirmed that they started on another secret plane in a thread on Discord. Whether this is the A380 or not, we do not know

I’m gonna wait for the A380 no matter how long it takes to be done once they started to reworke it.

As @HerrMrSir already reported, reactivation of the first of 4-5 Lufthansa A380s to be placed in MUC next summer has begun. I found a German article and will paste in a translation of it below:

The Airbus A380 is returning to the active Lufthansa fleet. Four to five aircraft will strengthen the Munich hub in the summer of 2023. After two and a half years in exile in Spain, a complex reactivation process is pending - Lufthansa has been waking up the first A380 from its technical hibernation since this week.

Lufthansa starts the A380 comeback! “We can confirm that the reactivation of the Mike Kilo (Düsseldorf) has already started this week,” said a Lufthansa spokesman aero.de on Friday. The D-AIMK is nine years old and stood in Teruel with the landing gears.

Lufthansa sold six of its 14 A380s to Airbus some time ago. Specifically, Lufthansa will return the D-AIMC, D-AIMF, D-AIMI, D-AIMJ, D-AIMM and D-AIMN from the production years 2010 to 2015 to the manufacturer by November 2023. The contractual return window has been open since October.

hail damage

In Teruel, Lufthansa was really unlucky in the summer: days after the official “go” for reactivation from the group headquarters, a heavy hailstorm swept across the region. According to aero.de information, the storm also badly damaged several Lufthansa A380s.

Lufthansa had the entire A380 fleet permanently parked during the pandemic - and only committed to a partial reactivation in 2022. Lufthansa wants to transfer the Mike Kilo - as of now - from Teruel to Frankfurt at the beginning of December. According to aero.de information, Lufthansa has nominated D-AIMM, D-AIML and D-AIMH as further A380 returnees.

This is long overdue! The a380 is the oldest aircraft in the game

It is! I know many people probably already put this in, but I think the ANA should be added!

But which livery do you like the most? I assume that there will be only one per airline as with other aircraft

Incorrect. Despite being one of the oldest, and in urgent need of a rework, that title goes to the C-17.

One thing that I’ve always appreciated about the A380 is how modern and high-tech the aircraft truly is. I could be wrong here, but I’m pretty sure that the A380 was the first plane to have cameras built-in to the fuselage, which aids in taxiing on the ground and also diagnosing possible control surface issues which could happen during flight.

Ah yes, the plane that literally has blue circles for engines.

C’mon IF, the A380 is one of the best aircraft ever existed, it deserves to be reworked!!

Can’t imagine how amazing will be by having this aircraft with correct liveries, animations, working cockpit, etc.

It needs some love, if we get to 2K votes and it’s still not getting a rework by that time, it will be way too long of a wait.

We need to knock on more doors for this to be even a bigger demand.
