Unfortunately, Lufthansaâs A346 flight from Riyadh on the 24th will be canceled due to planning constraints. Additionally, airspace entering Saudi Arabia is limited again, so the A346 switch to the Airbus A340-300 route has been shifted to the 26th of October. The reason for the route change is the higher oil price from Iran. Consequently, the Airbus A346 will be the final commercial flight on October 18 will be earlier, departing from BOS and IAD directly to Frankfurt instead of the 24th from Riyadh. Iâm curious to know if thereâs a problem with the posted page on Simple Flying.
There was news. Lufthansa already changed the schedule, but doesnât operate from Riyadh with anybody for planning the next last schedule 2 pick up route from JFK and IAD to Frankfurt early in October 2026.

I know, right? It is because the A350s are replacing the A340s

Lufthansa flight attendants and pilots, including the captain and first officer, communicated about the A346 plans until October. Thatâs when they announced the replacement with the Boeing 787-9, along with new orders for the A350. I had a conversation with them on the plane flew from Riyadh to Frankfurt last in January.
Knowing IF, I highly doubt they would rework it. Especially considering this post was made 7 years ago, I donât think it would be reworked, considering the fact that there are very few operators of the A340.

Maybe theyâd add the -300 instead? That one has more votes. Likely the 747 and 767, maybe C-17 will be reworked next

At least itâs got a decent physics model, unlike the 717 and C17. But the IF team should at least add some new liveries (and APPR maybe) if they determine a rework is unnecessary.

Well, it wouldnât likely be a priority, but they added the DC-10-30, and none of the airlines depicted in Infinite Flight with the Ten have flown it in the last couple decades. The last scheduled passenger operator was Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and the DC-10 doesnât have their livery.
