@NemAir will love this Topic I can’t wait to see this beauty
As my third favourite A340 variant (After A346 and A343) I sure do!
Meanwhile me whose favourite A340 variant is the -500.
Well they flagged my post about that statement, so allow me to be more clear.
The only variant presented was the A343 because it had the most votes:
Note the word Replacement. That means the six hundred is not coming back.
If the 600 isn’t going to be reworked, the 500 is sure not gonna come.
As for less popular aircraft….

Although personally I think this aircraft should be at the back of the queue (I just think there are newer aircraft that should be added and reworked) - this is still I really great Idea. This should definitely be put to a vote.
I really do hope Azal brings it back into service for just a few more months, since they are known to bring back parked planes back into service. Next year in summer I’m going to Baku and it would be really really nice if I can fly on it before it’s gone forever. Just keeping hopes up for it to return 🙏 🙏
Airways Magazine: Who Remembers?
Air Canada took delivery of two brand new Airbus A340-500s back in 2004 (C-GKOM, C-GKOL). The aircraft type was originally introduced as a replacement of the Boeing 747. Air Canada’s Airbus A340-500s operated to different destinations such as Hong Kong, Shanghai and Delhi. The airline only flew them until 2007, when Air Canada opted to phase them out in favour of the Boeing 777-200(LR) after canceling their Airbus A340-600 order. The -500s were eventually transferred to Brazil’s TAM. Airways News

I personally like this plane more than the A350… First route for me to try would be SIN-SAN/LAX. Voted!
Alex Praglowski Aviation: The Airbus A340-500 is one of the rarest widebody planes still flying today. With only 34 of these ultra-long-range A340s built and 7 of those active today in VIP roles only, it’s definitely an uncommon sight.
This one, belonging to Qatar Amiri Flight (A7-HHH), happened to be in St. Maarten around the time I was there and dwarfed every other private jet parked on the ramp at Princess Juliana International Airport.
While taking off on board another flight, I JUST managed to get this air-to-ground shot of it parked!
