Airbus A321XLR recives EASA type certification

There’s a new Airbus plane to take to the skies soon! The brand new Airbus A321XLR just got it’s EASA type certification and is almost ready to start service. The EASA certification allows the plane to be produced and it’s deemed airworthy.
The 1st delivery of the plane is expected in Q4 of 2024.

I can’t wait to see this plane take flight!

Airbus 🔝

Can’t forget that 777 or 757 though 🤤

Great news to see. That will surely start an era of the long-haul narrow body aircraft flights. Many airports will be able to receive such aircraft with the capacity needed!

I don’t think so tbh. Yes, is a big hit to Boeing, but I think once they get their problems figured out, they should start studying about a future Boeing 797, with unique advantages or something else, like what Airbus did with the 321 XLR.

Is the range shorter than the previous version with the fire hazard?

One of those things you can have confidence in saying “not happening” to. The last brand new Boeing that has done well was the 777 which iirc is technically still 90s or 20th century technology (not that it isn’t advanced or something). Even that is under skepticism due to production quality concerns and with the way things at Boeing have been. I don’t doubt those claims have solid reason to surface.

Personally I don’t understand the Max 10 or XLR. Neither are the real midsize aircraft airlines have been feining for to return… It’s almost as if the manufacturers would rather everyone buy a widebody. I can agree with them if thats the case. I bet they hate seeing all these spacious cabins be used in an evil manner. You’d think they would want money right? At any chance they can? I guess not here. Maybe oil giants secretly want to make sure planes burn a certain number of barrels.

I’d say it’s already way too late for Boeing to do anything by this point. If something on that segment is to come from them, it won’t be for the next 10 years.
