Airbus A318-100 ACJ (N1BG) Boeing Field to Burbank

Doing another flight to Burbank from Seattle! This time, it’s from the smaller of Seattle’s airports and the home of Boeing’s Renton plant and the Seattle Museum of Flight, one of the largest aviation museums in the country. Additionally, I did this flight with an Airbus, sort of like flying a BBJ out of Toulouse.

Airline: Private
Aircraft: Airbus A318-100 ACJ
Origin: King County International Airport, Seattle, Washington (BFI)
Destination: Hollywood Burbank Airport, Burbank, California (BUR)
Flight Number: N/A (N1BG is a fictuous registration and I doubt it’d be available for tracking even if it was real)
Route: KBFI-KBUR

Boarding at Boeing Field. Perhaps the -BG in N1BG could stand for BoeinG? Boeing Group? Wouldn’t that just be ironic!

Taxiing out past where all the 737 MAXs are

Taking off for Burbank

Cruising past Mount Saint Helens or rather what’s left of Mount Saint Helens

Passing NAS Lemoore before starting to descend over the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley

Turned onto final over Woodland Hills

On the ground at the official airport of Tinseltown

Waiting to cross Runway 15

Deplaned on the Million Air ramp

Stranger things have happened with Boeing. Like the YF-22 being a joint Boeing/Lockheed Martin collaboration. Or them losing the contract that the C-5 Galaxy won, developing their design into the 747, then holding off a challenge from Lockheed in the form of a passenger C-5. Or having a good portion of its corporate fleet being Challenger 604s.

like it seems as if they don’t trust their own planes…

Well, the Challengers are a lot less expensive to own and operate than a BBJ, they can fit into a lot of places a BBJ can’t, and Boeing can’t just take one of their aircraft from the production line.
