Frankfurter Flughafen Fans - FFF: Pan Am Airbus A310 at Frankfurt am Main (Rhein-Main AB) (FRA / EDDF / FRF) on November 3, 1991
Photographed by Marc Lehmann
Photographer’s note: “Clipper Midnight Sun” is ready for pushback from gate B33. This picture is my last photo of a Pan Am plane. It was already operating for Delta with a small sticker behind the cockpit windows. Soon after that, the paint was removed, so this was quite a short-lived combination.

It was returned to the lessor in Jan-02 and immediately leased to Air India as VT-EVI. The aircraft was returned to the lessor in May-05 and leased to Saga Airlines (TĂźrkiye) as TC-SGC the following month.

It was wet-leased to Ariana Afghan Airlines in Jun-08 and returned to Saga in mid 2011 when it was parked at Istanbul-SAW. It was leased to Ariana again in Oct-11 and returned to Saga at the end of Dec-11. It was stored at Istanbul-IST (now ISL) in Jun-12.

In Sep-12 the aircraft was wet-leased to Iran Air Tours. Saga Airlines ceased operations in May-13 and the aircraft was removed from service and stored at Mashad, Iran. It was last noted still at Mashad in Aug-14 with both engines and the main undercarriage missing. Permanently retired. Updated 22-Jul-24.

While the A310 isn’t the most popular aircraft, it’d still be a nice addition to Infinite Flight
