The delivery of the aircraft will begin in 2020 with four aircraft, increasing each year until JetBlue receives 22 in 2024. The airline has the ability to order 60 additional aircraft from 2025.
Technically speaking, the Airbus A220-300 is not a new model aircraft. The Jet Formerly known as the Bombardier CS300, which TPG once called “the most comfortable economy class you will find,” was renamed after Airbus acquired a 50.01% stake in Bombardier’s CSeries program last fall. Montréal-based Bombardier still holds 31% of the company, while Investissement Québec, an investment arm of the Québec government, holds 19%.
