Air New Zealand cuts In-Flight Wifi costs

Air New Zealand, New Zealand’s national carrier started offering in-flight wifi 10 days ago at a $40NZD per sector cost, however after getting complaints by their customers, they cut the price by 25% to $30NZD. 4 777’s have wifi implemented

In my opinion I feel as if though this is a great idea from the airline, making it less expensive for people will allow the customers to feel more happier about not paying almost a 100 dollars for a 3 hour flight.

I’d recommend posting this in #real-world-aviation. ;)

EDIT: Thanks.

This is nice and all, but it is really worthy enough to have it’s own post?

In my opinion yes, because if you are debating to fly ANZ, now you know they offer low cost wifi

Thank god they did that. I’m flying 777-300ER LH in 2 months might try it out.

Thirty dollars is still steep in my opinion.

Depends on what your currency is
30 dollars is around 15 British pounds/20 US Dollars I believe

Its 20 USD, however airlines like Southwest offer WiFi for like 10 or 15 bucks and you can use it the whole day so if you have multiple flights it carries over.\

By the way, can you define Sector? Is that a per flight thing? Or like a per hour thing?

It doesn’t say what exactly they mean, however, I’d assume that it means per flight hour.

Oh my that is crazy. Who buys their WiFi then?

Once again, I couldn’t tell you what it actually is, however I see your point

I don’t think sector mean 1 hour

Sector would most likely mean per flight.
