This morning at 9:00 am, nine French activists entered on the ramp of Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport to carry out a remarkable action on a long-haul aircraft that has been grounded for 11 months because of the Covid-19 crisis.
With the necessary equipment, the activities began to paint the fuselage of a Boeing 777 of the Air France company under the call sign of “F-GSPB”, on the other side, others are mounted to deploy large banners where it is inscribed :
“Is there a pilot to save the climate?”.
“The Solution: Fewer planes”
An impressive video and photos were taken at that time
Meanwhile, on tweeter, the company shared a video that prompted a reaction from the Minister of Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari:
As we can see, Greenspeace France is coming out with this sentence:
“Something is brewing here”
Which causes the Minister to react immediately with :
Accusing the government of greenwashing environmental issues about air traffic, the plane was painted green to make the place compatible with the climate crisis.
“This climate and resilience bill is an empty shell” according to Sarah Fayolle, in charge of the transport campaign at Greenpeace France.
The government says it is going to close short-haul lines doing less than 2h30, but behind this message, there are only five airlines that would be affected by this on a hundred other lines.
Immediately afterwards, the Gendarme (French Police) air transport arrived en masse to arrest the individuals.
Some of them who were on the fuselage of the 777 refused to comply with the Gendarmerie and refused to get off.
