Air Force One in Kahului, Maui

This past week, I was in Hawaii for 3 days working in Paradise. Spent a couple days on the Big Island due to hotels and other resources being a bit strapped on the Island of Maui after the deadly wildfires that roared through the city of Lahaina. Unfortunately, we felt the impact on the Big Island as well as there was this solemn vibe that resonated throughout its people, and rightly so.

After the two days on the Big Island, we ferried our empty Challenger 350 over to the island of Maui to find ourselves in what could quite be literally described as “organized chaos” better known as a “circus”.

Before departing for PHOG, we were well aware of the 3 TFRs that were set to go active and were well aware and briefed on what we’d be flying into. Below are some photos and videos that I took of President Biden’s arrival from Reno, NV in Air Force One operated on the C-32 (B757) platform.

This was first for me. Operating in the middle of a presidential movement. FBI, Secret Service, Air Force, and Police had everything locked down. Everyone documented our credentials. Pilot certs, medicals, drivers licenses, you name it. It was pretty much an on the spot background check. Once cleared we were free to move about on the ramp and walk around without being questioned. It was like a scene out of a movie with “no one in, no one out”.

Kahului’s finest. All airport first responders were activated for his arrival

We had the privilege of parking right in the middle of all of the staging. With the C-37A parked on our left wing, and the Army Blackhawks on our right.

NGL for a iPhone 13 not bad at all

Not self advertisement but I got some more proof that the iPhone 13 is not bad in terms of photos.

Bro what is your problem? You’ve been really just rude recently, on @American321 post you were blatantly disrespectful. Not even thought to say “good pictures!” instead you skip that, and proceed to be a mini-mod and be a buzzkill.

I think you’re reading between the lines too much. Just take the compliment and go on your merry way. If you’re trying to provoke a response, this really isn’t the place or the way to do it. There are much better ways of doing this.

My sincerest apologies if I’ve offended you.

Allow me to extend an apology to @DeerCrusher for not commenting on his images. I’m deeply sorry for any hurt I have caused you. They are wonderful. The quality is indeed the greatest.

All I saw was him offering some realistic advice, nothing about that was remotely disrespectful.

Very cool, didn’t realise that the AF1 callsign wasn’t just for the 747

Had a double-take moment when I saw Air Force One and the B757 too. Only to remember that the Air Force One callsign applies to any aircraft when the President is on board, not exclusively the VC-25.

He cold be in a Cessna 172 for all we know and the callsign will be Air Force One.

I’ll admit it got me in the first half when I saw the C-37A. I know I’m not up to date on the Presidential lore but then AF1 is just whatever aircraft the president flies on.

C172 callsign “Air Force One” coming to an airport near you soon! Damnit Matt
