Air Canada plans to move B737-8 MAX fleet to Rouge

The main story is as the title says above. I do have a YT video from Simple Flying which explains everything in more detail here:

If you like reading then I have this one here but it’s from a different source so some information might be different from the video:

What do you think of this? It seems that the IF team might have to create a new livery for the MAX in the coming 3 years jk.

Definitely an interesting decision.

Given it’s by 2028 - the 737 MAX will still be in Air Canada’s fleet for some time.

shoot you beat me to it lol

but I disagree a little

My main question is what will replace it? If you only go with the incoming a220s that is a major hit to capacity.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. Their A320s won’t because they are ageing.

I should’ve made this topic lol. Can’t wait to see the Rouge Max

Very interesting. Will miss the 737 max in that livery but at least they aren’t phasing them out from the Air Canada Group

Well I made your waiting time quicker by like 4 years :)

that’s a 95% chance it’ll look like that

i think they should just keep the livery they have now

true point.

also, the gap in their fleet will be from A223-A321XLR. that’s a big passenger diffrence

so they would have to change the order to 320NEO’s for that to be no problem. They already have so many old aircraft to age out (ex:A319,A320,A321). These aircraft are also older than the Rouge aircraft.

Very interesting and unexpected.

Let’s see if we get a livery for this with the MAX 8 now out in IF. :)

I read that at breakfast this morning, and I dropped my strawberry lol

hahaha lol

I wonder what aircraft will operate the YHZ - LHR route?

The new XLRs will take over transatlantic Max routes. I’ve had a chance to fly the Air Canada Max several times before and sad to say it but I’ll miss it on the mainline fleet. But we’ll have to see what the XLRs bring to the table in terms of passenger comfort (Apparently they’ll have lie-flat business class seats!).

Awesome picture.

I saw this on Youtube last night. I must say very interesting Decision at least we have 4-5 years before that will happen!

Future 737 MAX 8-200 orders like Allegiant? 🤨🤔 Without looking it up… essentially the Rouge of Air Canada is an ULCC like Allegiant (I think), right?
