Air Canada has announced that they will start operating an Airbus A220 from Montreal (CYUL) to Los Angeles (KLAX). The A220 will operate the round-trip once a day starting 2020-08-01T06:00:00Z till the 2020-09-07T06:00:00Z

This route will be operated by Air Canada three times a day during peak season with A220//A320//A330

The A220 flight will be AC797 which leaves Montreal at 8:05am EST. Which will Arrive at Los Angeles (KLAX) at 11:00am PST. A flight time of under six hours. The return flight back to Montreal is flight AC798 which leaves KLAX at 11:50am PST and arrives back at CYUL around 8:10pm EST.

A220 is for medium hauls. Mostly likely going to replace A320 when retired in a couple years

Nah, it really isn’t close to a stretch.

The A220-300 has an advertised range of around 6204 km or around 3800 mi.

YUL-LAX is only 2,474 mi or 4,000 km.

Air Canada could even use the A220-300 on flights from Montreal to Europe if they wanted to.

Yeah, the A220 is an amazing and versatile aircraft. So far no airline has used them for transatlantic flights though.

It looks like airBaltic’s A220-300 flight from Riga to Abu Dhabi is still the world’s longest A220-300 flight at 4,430 km or 2715 miles.
