Just in.
Kazakhstan’s flag-carrier intends to order 30 737 MAX 8s.
- This is not a confirmed order.
- Air Astana itself will not be taking the 737 MAX 8s, but will send them to its new low-cost carrier, FlyArystan.
- FlyArystan currently has 3 A320s in an all-economy class configuration with 180 seats.
- FlyArystan operates regional routes from Almaty, but will begin flying to Moscow in December.
Congrats to Boeing for securing at least a letter of intent. It seems like there will be more upcoming orders at the 2019 Dubai Airshow.
