I have been experiencing a very strange bug or glitch, and it’s about the AGL or a ground glitch—a very unusual issue that I seem to find here but not exactly it.
“This only happens when I am about to approach a certain airport, way before the “final,” as I notice the AGL is unusually close, while the MSL is like 10-14k ft, no mountains, just… very interesting bug.”
As I continue to approach and the final is on the way, the callout started saying “2,500” while my MSL is like 13k ft. I was like, what? I just knew it was a real bug after I experienced it again; I continued to approach, and while I’m in the final position already, the airport is not visible at all, while the MSL indicates I’m around 3-4k feet and I should see the airport from a distance, but apparently it’s not because the AGL stayed “0” before my final approach, meaning I was like in an underground. After the AGL stayed “0,” the first camera view is bugged (aiming downwards slowly after AGL hits 0), and if I use an Airbus, it keeps saying “retard.” I may have landed only once at OMDB (that’s the first time I encountered the bug, but I’m relieved ATC is not active, but I ended up landing at a taxiway), but there’s nothing around me at all. Of course I can see the other IF users around me, but it’s just a box icon to where they are, but that’s exactly it. This all happened just recently; they are 12+ hour haul flights; it happened twice, both KLAX-OMDB (1st bug happened) and EDDM-KLAX (it happened here again). I have no idea if this bug or glitch existed way before or somewhat, but it’s very irritating to land because it has no visuals, and yet I don’t want to risk getting reported because I see nothing but the ground, the horizon, the sky, and my shadow is way above me. I still have the screenshots and a video for proof, and I don’t know where to send it. I cleared cache and restarted my phone many times before I started my different long-haul flight (which is EDDM-KLAX) to see if it happens again, and it did.
Oh finally! dayumn you reply fast bro HAHA, sure I’ll upload the photos first, and I’ll upload the video and the link, you’ll see the first and second image, the shadow is above me, definitely just dived down and digging into the ground You’ll notice the last image, that’s the 1st camera view bugged when it happened
Hmmm ok - I’m noticing a common theme here and its the red dot in the top right - what was offline?
I have a theory. If you were offline, the terrain wouldn’t have been loading properly. Therefore, the Altitude AGL metric was unable to give you an accurate reading, so defaulted to 0.
Actually it is a global server that’s a red sign. Is it because of my internet? (I have stable connection at multiplayer though) Or just the IF server? Well, for more information, at the opening of the app, it always shows me an error 8 countless of times before it clearly opens the app. Idk if it helps, just an additional information wouldn’t hurt
If the global server got sorted quickly, I still experienced the bug/glitch that just happened 3 hours ago. The Error Code 8 just happens frequently, it just always pops up right before it opens the app, so if I pressed “Retry,” it just takes me to the menu straight away, only if I’m lucky. My internet provider is only one, because we just have extended routers (but I don’t switch though), and that’s it; we only have 1 internet provider here
There haven’t been any issues reported today by other users nor any global thing reported by the staff - I’ve been flying for the last couple hours with no issues either.
Ooooohhhh, I didn’t know there could be issues of IF with PLDT. Interesting. So that’s why I may have very stable connection but the global server isn’t, loading screen takes almost an hour or so and Error Code 8 appears so often. It’s because of our internet provider
Yes, PLDT have started to pop up (again).
I’ve gone back & forth with our datacenter on numerous occasions now and it’s the same thing, always. Packets are being dropped between our datacenter and PLDT (on PLDT’s side) and they’re not responding to any inquiries… so we’re not getting anywhere I’m afraid.
