Hey guys, so during my takeoff roll today at Jo-burg in the CRJ7, my right fear collapsed (my own fault) and I almost lost control on the ground, and stalled after rotation (nearly at cruise now thankfully). I’d just wanna make sure you guys don’t do the same, so when on the takeoff roll, don’t use as much throttle as you think, and try not to use too much rudder, as I believe that was the cause of this. Thanks 👍👌
Do you mean gear?
If it was, it was probably only strong crosswinds. Remember, the rudder is your friend.
Yes, indeed I do 😂
This is the exact opposite of what you should do. It is better to use adequate rudder, than run off the runway.
Also, 10kt crosswinds shouldn’t be able to collapse hear
There is currently only 23knts crosswind at FACT. Enough to rock a CRJ, just being ready for the initial blow is a pain, once you know the amount of rudder you need, you’re off!
Well in my case I went on to the grass because of it.
You should also try tilting your device into the wind the prevent a wing strike and to stay flying runway heading.
I would’ve cancelled my takeoff by then if I’m running off of the runway…
Stay active. I’m having to turn back anyway, I’ll let you know how landing is
Aight have a good flight
