After a post in the IFFG group, I finally wanna post my idea also here in the feedback forum. I posted the following text :

I want to share a thought with you. I was just flying some patterns at TNCM (Advanced Server), when a guy in a C208 joined in ( DHL livery ). His tag was “follow me to your gate”, which obviously meant to follow him to the gate as soon as I landed.
This brought me the following idea : Everybody is begging for real airport buildings etc etc. If Matthieu Laban added such “follow me-cars”, this definitely would have a positive impact in the simulator-gameplay.
I often see that people tend to have problems to park at the right gate, since they park their heavies in gates that are way to small.
So, in my opinion, there could be players ( for example only in Advanced server ) that “drive those” by choosing the “followme-car” option instead of approach, center, departure, ground or tower. Of course this position has to be limited in numbers, depending on the airport.
I consider this a nice idea, that would bring more live into the sim. However, some more ways at the airports would have to be added so the followme-cars dont drive randomly around.

People generally found this idea really nice and the feature would allow the simulator to become more realistic. Also, it could help avoid people cutting through others, since the follow me aircraft could maybe also be used to kind of push back the aircraft (" Request push back" then basically means you only get pushed back when the follow-me car “agrees”/“allows” you to do so.
Max Sez… Nobody said it was gonna be EZ! If ya can find your way in a car why can’t you find your way around an airport. Unlike a car, Ya got multiple Windows views, Radars, Vidio views etc at hand plus the ability to call up any airports diagram by a little research during pre-flight pre-taxi planning. Learn how to use the systems. Can’t hack the learning curve, always dependant on somebody else? Then a cockpit is not the place for you’
Its a good idea but then there just gonna be too many follow me cars as well. And you would have to have ground crew services and all the other things as well
They use maps that have airlines, that in the realworld actually park. Although I am not involved in Followcar, it is entertaining and awesome to watch.
But again they bring realism, and so does followcar. Followcars are actually operating in real world, not necessarily as C208’s but maybe Landrovers or Mitsubishi Pajeros.
